# Dynamic media for configurable products

We connected a cloud media platform to an enterprise commerce storefront so product imagery could reflect configuration choices. The work combined dynamic image URLs, transformation controls, asset versioning, and animation sequences, giving the storefront a reusable media integration alongside the wider product-selection experience.

Category: Dynamic media
Technologies: Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SFRA, Cloudinary

## The challenge

An international commerce brand needed product imagery to reflect the choices
shoppers made when configuring an item. The storefront also needed consistent
image and video behavior across product and category pages, with controls for
assets that changed over time.

## Our contribution

5PM owned the Cloudinary integration for storefront and configuration media.
We built dynamic image URL handling, image scaling, and asset management behavior,
and generated imagery and animation sequences for the configuration experience.
Our work covered the media integration within the wider commerce application.

## Integration approach

Dynamic media URLs connected Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Cloudinary, requesting
the assets and transformations appropriate to the product context. For configurable
products, imagery and animation sequences reflected selections in the shopping
journey.

We worked on transformation preferences and asset versioning to make those controls
reusable across storefront development. Category imagery and video behavior extended
the integration beyond the configuration journey, bringing several media needs
into the same platform.

## What the work enabled

The storefront could present configuration-aware imagery and animation sequences
alongside other product, category, and video content. Reusable transformation and
versioning controls supported continued updates to the media layer.
